Yua Aida was born in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on August 12, 1984. Aida was an active girl and involved in many sporting activities during primary and middle school. Tennis was her strongest sport throughout middle school. In high school, she changed her focus on sports to art, an interest she attributes to her mother. Aida reports that exposure to nude models while oil painting helped her to be more comfortable when she began her AV career. After her graduation from high school, Aida began working at a part-time job. At this time she was scouted by an AV talent agency while shopping in Tokyo's Shinjuku neighborhood. Aida says that she was not impressed with the talent scout, but when she met the company president, she thought, "This guy is really great. I’m gonna work here!

Yua Aida debuted in photo layouts in 2003, and made her AV debut in the January 2004 DVD release Pichi Pichi.[3] A co-production of the KUKI and MAX-A labels, Pichi Pichi had Aida playing the role of a student writing a final paper for school on the subject of ecstasy. This concept allowed Aida to perform with a variety of AV actors.

Yua Aida's second video, Your Yua Aida (February 2004) left the fictional narrative format to explore the documentary style common with Japanese adult videos. In her March release, Voyage, Aida played the role of a photographer who fantasizes about having sex with the male models she photographs.

Praudia (May 2004) had Aida in the role of a bar girl competing with other girls for the customers' interest. The same month as this release, Aida starred in an "image" video for the Shuffle label. Featuring nude modeling without sex, the video was titled sexy. Aida appeared in a similar DVD, Maximum, for Kuki in June, 2004. The 60 minutes of new "image video" modeling was padded with scenes from two of her previous releases. Also in June, Aida released Lesson 4, an AV for Kuki in which she plays a teacher in an all-male school.

Aida's next release, Curved Line Beauties (July 2004) was another "image" video, with the model appearing in various revealing clothing, and oiling herself. Sweat, released in August, focused on Aida's athletic abilities, and her tendency to perspire easily. Mountain biking was one of the forms of exercise featured in the video.

Yua Aida appeared in Lusting Uniform Collection in April of 2005 with a variety of other AV idols, including Naho Ozawa and Sora Aoi. The video was described as, "for the people, by the people, of the people who love school uniforms!" The same month, she released Endless, an AV that purported to dramatize an actual event from Aida's life. The video had Aida as the victim of a molester who ejaculated on her school uniform.

In addition to her original releases, Yua Aida's videos were anthologized many times in such collections as Blur File, Premium BEST, and three Samantha collections. Within a year of her debut, she had appeared in over 30 videos. Along with Sora Aoi, she is the most popular figure of the S1 studio. On March 20, 2006 the Japanese AV industry recognized her career by awarding her the Japanese adult grand prix actress award for the year of 2005.

On July 12, 2007, Aida announced in her blog that she was retiring from appearances in AV, but plans to continue appearing in gravure and non-pornographic "Image" videos.
